Carriers What is a carrier?
Carriers are the capsules that hold and protect what is being transported through the pneumatic tube systems.
What is so amazing about the carrier?
The fact that it can travel 25 feet per second to any location while even going to other floors is pretty amazing.Have you ever wished there was a way to transport paperwork and other objects without taking an employee away from their current work?
There is a way, and it's called a pneumatic tube system. How do I know what size to choose from?
It all depends on your facility's needs. Please take notice of the chart at the bottom of this page for determining maximum weight loads and capacities for each size of carrier. If you still aren't sure which carrier is right for you, please call us and we can help (816.358.3911 or 800.247.7638).
Do you sell my type of Carrier?
Even if you don't see your carrier on our carrier size and style pages, please call us. We most likely have your carrier, but do not keep an extensive list of carriers on our pages. We try to display carriers that have a proven history of being durable, great quality, and great price.
How do I measure a carrier correctly?
A carrier's size is found by measuring the inside diameter (ID) of the carrier. Viewing the picture to the left, the ruler measures the inside diameter of the carrier at 3 5/16". Important: a 3 5/16" carrier cannot fit into a 3" size system. The carrier must be smaller in diameter than the system it is designed for. If the carrier is above 3", then move to the next size (a 4" system in this case).
In order to measure the Inside Length (IL) of a carrier, place the ruler vertically insidethe carrier. Whatever that measurement results in is the inside length of the carrier. Important: the measurement may include the cap. The carrier to the left has space inside the cap to provide additional space for items. Therefore, with this carrier, you would measure the cap as well.

* The most common pneumatic tube system sizes are 3", 4", and 6". Please call for further consultation if you will need a system that is 4.5", 8", or 10" in diameter.*If you have any other questions please contact us.
