It can have as many stations (locations) as you need and all stations can send and receive. This system is designed for anything from simple to complex and unique situations. There is virtually no need that this pneumatic tube system cannot meet.   The functionality of computer controlled systems and Touch Screens provide better improved system features Click on the topics (in blue) to open the descriptions. When finished, simply click on the description to close it again.   1. Display Station Name The touch screen displays all station names, which makes memorized station numbers unnecessary.   2. Transaction Information During a transaction, the touch screen informs the operator when the carrier is in route and when it arrives. The touch screen also lets the operator know during the transit where a carrier came from and when it is coming to that specific station's location.   3. System Efficiency Using computer controls provide the ability of having multiple turnaround points in the system, which means the carrier travels less distance between stations, and therefore, results in lower transaction time. Enterprise diverters are ideally suited for implementing multiple turnaround points.   4. Hardcopy Printouts The system printer prints all transactions, which include the Response Time, any alarms, and all maintenance functions that are performed with either the computer or touch screens. These records can be used to study system usage, answer specific discrepancies, and maintenance troubleshooting.   5. Off the Shelf Parts An important feature of the Enterprise Series is the use of "off the shelf parts" and not proprietary parts. You should be able to go to most of your local hardware stores in order to get replacement parts for nearly all our components. In fact, only the circuit board in each station is proprietary. In order to remove any doubts, we will provide pricing for the board up front with the rest of the system price.   6. Automatic Self Purge At some point, all pneumatic tube systems get carriers stuck in the system. The Automatic System (ESS 5000) will automatically attempt to return the carrier to the originating station. If successful, no system maintenance will be needed. The purge outcome will be displayed on the originating stations screen.   7. Soft Delivery System As a carrier arrives at a station, it "floats" into the station on a cushion of air, which causes it to land at no more than 2-3 miles per hour. This helps to insure that even your most fragile items are safely delivered.   8. Pharmacy Security Controlled substances can be handled by the ESS 5000. When the pharmacy sends a controlled substance , it cannot be removed from the destination station unless it is "released" by the pharmacy.   9. Carrier Redistribution The Lab and Pharmacy will occasionally overflow with carriers, even if the effort is made to return the carriers to their original station. The system tracks traffic flow and knows which stations need carriers. 10. Station Sign-Off If a station is unattended, it can be signed off to ensure a carrier will not be left unprocessed. This feature can be performed manually or be programmed for specific time periods. 11. Carrier Forwarding If a station is signed off or unavailable at the time, the carrier will be automatically forwarded to another preset destination. 12. Maintenance Maintenance can be performed from each station as well as from the computer. 13. Expandability The ESS 5000 can be expanded to over 1,000 stations. 14. Pending Dispatch The computer control allows unattended carrier dispatch either by priority or a FIFO scheme, depending on traffic demands, as well as many more too numerous to mention.
